How to download to a Windows or macOS desktop
We recommend Adobe Reader for desktop downloads because it is free, easy to download, useful for loads of websites, and won’t harm your computer software or files. To download or update for free, visit the Official Adobe website.
As with most downloads, you can open the PDF and view it immediately, and we recommend you save it to a specific location on your desktop computer immediately. Can't find it? Check your Downloads folder.
Note: PDFs may not display properly on small-screen eReaders as they are fixed layout files.
To complete the pdf download:
- First, make sure you have Adobe Reader or some sort of PDF reader installed on your computer.
- Click on the Access Your Digital Content button in your email.
- Click on the .pdf file.
- Wait until the eBook file downloads.
- Save the file to your preferred folder.
How to download to an Apple device (iPad or iPhone)
Our ePub files are designed for Apple devices. You can also save a PDF to your Apple device.
Instructions on how to download to both the Books app and the Files app are below.
To complete the ePub download via the Books app:
- First, make sure you have the Books app installed on your device. This is a default app, but if you removed it, just download it again from the App Store. The icon looks like this:
- Tap on the Access Your Digital Content button in your email. (If you run into problems, you might want to try using a different browser. Safari or Google are the best options as your mail app might cause downloading delays/issues.)
- Click download on the .epub file.
- Wait until it downloads. Look at the status near the top of the device.
- When it completes, tap Open in "Books" OR tap on the upload icon () near the bottom of the screen, and then tap the Books app.
The eBook is now saved in your library for use on the road!
To complete the PDF download via the Books app:
You can also save a PDF to your Apple device as well. Just follow the same steps as above, but choose the PDF option and then tap the upload icon (), and then tap the Books app.
To complete the PDF download via the Files app:
- First, make sure you have the Files app installed on your device. The icon looks like this:
- Tap on the Access Your Digital Content button in your email.
- Click download on the PDF option.
- Wait until it downloads. Look at the status near the top of the device.
- When it completes, tap the upload icon () near the bottom of the screen, choose the Save to Files option, then tap Save.
How to download to the Kindle app or Kindle device
You can download any PDF, ePub, or Mobi files and send them to your Kindle library.
Sign in to your Amazon account and send files from this link*:https://www.amazon.com/sendtokindle
After the file has been downloaded from that link (you can view the status directly on the Send to Kindle page), go to your Content and Devices section in your Amazon account and send it to your preferred reading device.
*Please note: The maximum file size to send via this method is 200 MB. Many of our books are larger than that, so "side-loading" may be a better option. When you click on the file, you will see if it is too large or not. You can also see sizes on your download link.
To complete the "side-load" download:
- Download your preferred format on a desktop.
- Connect your Kindle via USB to your desktop.
- Copy and paste the downloaded eBook file to your Kindle Documents folder.
- Once complete, be sure to choose the "Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media" option before you unplug your device.
More information on Kindle downloading can be found here.
How to download to an Android device
For Android users, we recommend downloading the EPUB format and using the following free eBook reader apps to view your eBook file:
PocketBook Reader (this app allows you to zoom in on maps, a feature not available in other apps for Androids)
You can also download the PDF to one of these options:

NOOK
Download the PDF or EPUB file to your computer, then connect the Nook with the USB cable. Nook will then show where hard drives and other USB drives show (under My Computer on Windows or on the desktop on Mac). Double-click on the NOOK drive to open it. You can then drag and drop the downloaded eBook from your computer to the "my documents" folder or to the root of the NOOK.
For more information about how to use this device, visit the Barnes & Noble website.
Kobo
We recommend using Adobe Digital Editions to add EPUB files to your Kobo. Connect your eReader to your computer using the included USB cable. A prompt will appear on the eReader screen - tap Connect. Then right-click the book file and click Open With. Click Adobe Digital Editions. Adobe Digital Editions should start automatically and open the book. In Adobe Digital Editions, click the Library icon. Select your new book and drag it to the Kobo eReader bookshelf (listed on the left side under Bookshelves).
For more information about how to use this device, visit the Official Kobo website.
Where are the files I downloaded - I can't find them?!
If you were not asked to specify a folder when downloading your files on your desktop, then your digital purchases have been saved to a default “downloads” folder. If you don’t know where this lives on your hard drive, you can do one of two things – do a search using a keyword from one of the file names, or download the eBook again using the link we sent you (each format can be downloaded up to 5 times). This time, when you click on the download link, select the 'Save to disk' option and save the file to a folder on your desktop.
If you are downloading to an eBook reader app, you will need to send the downloaded file to your preferred app. The download will not automatically be sent somewhere.
See above for more details on how to do this for your preferred device.
Please be patient when waiting for the download to finish. Check the status on your device's status bar.
If you have run out of downloads or are still experiencing difficulties, please let us know.
